This song was written standing in my kitchen one morning. It’s based on a prayer I pray every Sunday morning before stepping on stage to lead worship at Lewisville Baptist Church. I basically ask God that He would take everything we bring that morning and make it all about Him. I was thinking about that idea in the context of my band and other ministries and had a moment with God where I felt a strong desire to commit that no matter what I was doing I would always remain mindful to continually make it about His Kingdom and not mine. This simple verse and chorus came out of that moment.

I wrote this song while I was leading worship at a “Listening Prayer” conference in West Vancouver, BC.  We were challenged to consider how faithful God has been to each of us despite the often weak and unstable nature of our faith in Him.  I typically spend some time over a song, crafting (and second-guessing) but this one was one of my very few experiences with a song just “pouring out”.  I literally wrote it between sessions and brought it to the congregation during the conference.  It went through some refining and production changes since then, but the bones of the song remain the same as the day the were penned.
